160,000 apply to volunteer at Expo 2020

The Organisers have hailed the overwhelming support of the public for the first world’s fair to be held in the Middle East and issued a reminder that there is still time to get involved.

The deadline for registrations for the massive Expo 2020 volunteer programme closes on March 31.

Thirty-thousand volunteers from 180 countries are set to greet millions of visitors from all over the globe when the six-month-long extravaganza gets under way on October 1.

The celebration of international ingenuity and innovation was due to be held in October of last year, only for the rise of the Covid-19 pandemic to lead to the event being postponed for 12 months.
