UAE celebrates first International Day for Human Fraternity
On Thursday the first International Day for Human Fraternity was celebrated with the UAE’s leaders reasserting their commitment to peaceful co-existence and dialogue.
February 4 was chosen as the day to encourage global tolerance, co-operation, and conversation by the United Nations General Assembly last year. It marks the day Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, signed the Document on Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi in 2019.
On Thursday, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, said the UAE was “committed to fostering fellowship and open dialogue”.
